We left Rome early (too danged early!) this morning and negotiated the train system to the ruins of Pompeii. Another lifelong dream has been fulfilled–the ruins are fascinating and worth the trouble. It was a sort of hot, dusty day by time we were done touring, but I think the trek was worth it. (Jessi, I got to see the “Beware of Dog” mosaic in one of the houses.)
Our lodging tonight is in a cute bread and breakfast with not-so-good wifi and I’m getting HTTP errors when I upload photos, so will have to delay them.
We are staying in Sorrento tonight and tomorrow. It is gorgeous — I’ll upload the classic shot of the Mediterranean and cruise ship asap. More tomorrow…
Oh, that is a nice check off the bucket list! I’ll bet it was just astounding and fascinating. Looking forward to the photos. Safe travels my dear.
Very nice, m’dear.
We need to have lunch when you get back, I want to hear all about Pompeii!!!
Yay Pompeii!! I can’t wait to see all your photos and to swap stories when your back!
This photo is quite classic! It is good to do as much as you can while there. Life intervenes and who knows when the opportunity will present itself again.

I am very glad I came here. The whole trip has had its ups and downs, but it has definitely been worth it.
