Sorrento Day 2

The Sorrento harbor faces Vesuvius to the north.
I think Sorrento is the original perfect Mediterranean town. It reminds me of Santa Barbara CA in almost every way: the harbor setting, mountains behind, perfect blue sky, perfect temperature, fiery pink and purple bougainvilla, lemons and oranges, colorful tile decorating the buildings, just everything. I love it!
The strangest coincidence happened this morning at breakfast. Three people sat down and one looked familiar… And then I realized it was Kristine Lang, who teaches in the Physics Department with Shane at Colorado College! She was shocked too. Cooper, her son, took our picture at the inn.

Shirley, Kristine, and Stormy pose at the door of the Casa Astarita.
We took the day to relax, look at the views, and shop. Shirley lost her hat last night and has found a new one.

The evening light makes the Sorrento harbor even more beautiful.
More evening light…

This pink facade is enhanced at this time of day. Or maybe it’s my good mood looking through rose-colored glasses.

Living in Colorado Springs
Wow, you’re right, that does evoke a very similar feeling as SB. And what fun running into a familiar face in an exotic location! So happy to see you having such a great time.
What an amazing coincidence! I didn’t even know Kristine was in Italy.
Thanks for making me aware of Sorrento… I will add it to my list; a lifetime’s worth of amazing. xoxo
Hah!
The photos have been lovely, Stormy – almost like I’m there. ALMOST! Fr Marty and Mary are traveling in Italy currently so you might run into them next!!
